Best Rooftop Bars in London

If you’re looking for the best rooftop bars in London, then you’ve certainly come to the right place. Despite our love for London, on some occasions it’s dark and dingy pubs simply doesn’t cut it. So if you’re looking for something with a little more sophistication, and a little less tat we’ve got everything for you.

So why not sit back, relax and get a taste of the high life with our scrumptious guide to London’s best rooftop bars.

Sushi Samba (Heron Tower)

Located on the two top floors of one of the highest buildings in London, Sushi Samba knows a good view when it sees one.

The express lift will take you from it’s ground floor to swanky level 38 in a matter of seconds, with stunning views of the city as you rise. Let me tell you the fun has only just started.

Only a stones throw from the Gherkin, expect breathtaking views of St Paul’s Cathedral, Tower of London, London Bridge and more.

Sushi Samba consists of two bars, an outdoor roof terrace bar and tree terrace bar. If you don’t intend on eating, inform the door men and take the lift directly to the 38th floor.

Expect to pay the going rate for cocktails in a high end London cocktail bar. What we can guarantee is elegance, style and sophistication, rest assured Sushi Samba won’t let you down.

Vista Rooftop Bar

Located conveniently on the top of The Trafalgar Hotel just off Trafalgar Square, Vista rooftop bar has impressive views of Nelson’s Column, Big Ben, London Eye and of course London’s ever impressive skyline.

Cocktails come in at around £13, but the views and ambience certainly makes up for it.

Needn’t to say, if your around the area and find yourself at a loose end in need of a top up, Vista will make for the perfect location.

Sky Pod

Another extra tall building has opened in London, yet this time it’s primed with some of the best drinks known to man. It has many Londoner and tourist flocking miles to get a glimpse of the breathtaking views.

20 Fenchurch Street, or the Walkie Talkie building as it’s more commonly known was initially famous for it’s car melting properties, but now it’s become more of a talking point when they opened it’s rooftop garden on the 35th floor.

Before heading to the rooftop gardens, be sure to book, as spaces are limited and go as fast as a 2-for-1 cocktail at happy hour on a Friday evening after work.

Cocktails come in at around £11 but be sure to take into account the 12.50% bar service charge.

Fancy a bite to eat, well the Sky Pod offers a range of light snacks, although if you fancy something a little more meaningful then the Fenchurch Seafood Bar & Grill and the Darwin Brasserie are located on top of the Sky Pod.

Radio Rooftop Bar

Once a prime location for transmission aerials, now it’s equipped with a rooftop bar, outdoor heaters, retractable roof, oversized sofas and enough drinks to sink a battle ship. Perhaps not but we thought it sounded pretty darn good!

Located ten floors up, the Radio Rooftop Bar faces out to the South of London, meaning you’ll be blessed with views of Big Ben, London Eye, the OXO Tower and there’s plenty more where that came from.

Music is provided by the in house DJ, who helps keep the beats pumping, while the kind bar staff keep your drinks topped up.

Madison Rooftop Bar

The Madison Rooftop Bar is a favourite for city slickers roaming St Paul’s, demanding plush cocktails, ambient lighting and a sexy view of the City of London.

Once a best kept secret, unfortunately that’s well and truly out of the bag, but that needn’t mean you miss out on all of the fun. Besides, Madison Rooftop Bar is still exclusive, it airs a level of sophistication and the rooftop views of St Paul’s Cathedral and it’s surroundings are simply breathtaking.

A popular location on a warm Summers day, it’s a preferred location for locals and city workers to unwind after a busy day in the office. Expect swish cocktails, plush seating and enough snacks and drinks to keep you going all night long, but don’t forget the sexy view of St Paul’s and the beauty that is London.
